Parys 150 will be a year overflowing with activities, celebrations, artistic showcases, outdoor adventures, food experiences, heritage events, sports, and community gatherings. With so many activities spread across every month of 2026, the Sesquicentennial needed a central tool that brings everything together: the Parys 150 Living Calendar.
The Living Calendar is designed to be a dynamic, regularly updated guide that allows residents and visitors to stay informed about every confirmed activity happening throughout the year. It will include event dates, venues, booking details, organiser information, contact points, and clear descriptions of each activity. This ensures that the town’s diverse offerings can be enjoyed by all without confusion or missed opportunities.
The calendar highlights the full range of event themes that form part of Parys 150. Adventure lovers can follow updates on river activities, hiking routes, mountain biking events, and the highly anticipated Crater Camino launch. Business minded visitors and locals will be able to track expos, networking opportunities, agricultural innovation workshops, and investment focused gatherings. Food enthusiasts can plan for culinary fairs, chef demonstrations, tasting sessions, and creative competitions that celebrate local cuisine.
Heritage and culture will also have a dedicated presence on the calendar. Historical tours, exhibitions, storytelling events, and special heritage projects will be clearly listed. For nature lovers, updates on birdwatching experiences, guided hikes, wetland tours, and conservation projects will offer endless opportunities to explore the region’s natural beauty. The visual and performing arts sector will showcase exhibitions, public murals, theatre, music, dance, and poetry events throughout the year. Sports tournaments, fun runs, and friendly competitions will add energy and excitement to the programme.
Event organisers are encouraged to register their activities early, so they appear on the Living Calendar. Registration can be completed online at www.parysinfo.co.za or in person at the Parys Info and Tourism office at 85 Bree Street. The office is open Monday to Friday from 08:30 to 16:30 and a dedicated coordinator is available to assist with submissions or answer questions. Organisers may also contact the office via 056 811 4000 or 067 278 2860 or email info@parysinfoandtourism.co.za.
The Living Calendar does more than list events. It brings the community together by helping organisers collaborate and encouraging residents to participate. It allows families to plan weekends, visitors to plan holidays, and businesses to prepare themed offerings or joint activities. It creates a framework that ensures the Sesquicentennial is well coordinated, inclusive, and accessible for all.
As Parys prepares for this once-in-a-lifetime celebration, the Living Calendar stands as the heartbeat of the Sesquicentennial. It keeps the community informed, inspired, and excited. Most importantly, it ensures that every moment of the celebration is captured, shared, and enjoyed as Parys steps proudly into 2026.
