A Path Woven in Stone, Silence & Story
Long before your footsteps touch the red earth of the Vredefort Dome, this land has already prepared a quiet welcome.
Two billion years ago, a meteorite struck with unimaginable force, shaping the hills, valleys and rivers that form this UNESCO World Heritage Site today.
The Crater Camino invites you to experience this ancient landscape on foot.
Inspired by the Camino de Santiago, yet unmistakably South African, the route leads through bushveld trails, wild olive forests, historic sites, dramatic viewpoints and the winding Vaal River.
This is more than a hike.
It is a journey of presence.
Here, you don’t walk on the landscape. You walk with it.
